How To Enjoy Life

 By: Nigar

Sometimes we’re all so focused on things like school and work, we forget to enjoy the precious life we’ve been given. This might sound a bit cliche, but you do only live once, at least we’re sure about that of this life. Here are some important things you shouldn’t forget in life.

The little things you worry about today, won’t matter anymore in just a matter of time. I mean, think about something you were stressed about a while ago, like a presentation for example. You were probably very nervous. But look at today, you’re totally fine and happy you did it. So the next presentation you have won’t be as bad as you’d think. Sometimes we just have to do things even if we don’t like them. There are worse things you could have been doing. You’ll be proud of yourself because you did something you thought you couldn’t and if it doesn’t go so well, you’ve learned another lesson in life. Remember that it’s okay to make mistakes. We learn lessons from the mistakes we make everyday and carry those lessons with us our entire life. The more mistakes you make, the wiser you’ll become.

Surround yourself with people that make you happy. If you hang out with people you don’t feel comfortable with, then don’t. It’s maybe hard, but you deserve to have the right people on your side and who truly love you for who you are. Think about what’s best for you. And no, it’s not ego of yourself if you do what’s best for you, at the end it’s your life and no one else’s.

Look around yourself. Look at the wonderful people you’re surrounded with. Look at the nature. Look at how beautiful everything actually is. Look at your friend smiling, see the rain tickling on your window, stare at the clouds above you. Take in every moment and try to enjoy it to the fullest, because you’ll never know when the last time will be that you’ll experience it.

Don’t stress too much about the future. I’ve been getting the same questions a lot lately: “What are your plans in the future?”, “At what age do you want to get married?”, “How many kids do you want later?”. Wow, stop for a second, you want to know how many kids I want when I don’t even no what I’m getting for lunch today? Of course you can have an idea of what you expect from yourself in the future, but you’re never 100% sure. You never know how life’s going to turn out eventually. A lot of teens freak out a bit when they hear these kind of questions, which I totally get. Don’t feel rushed by others, take the time you need. It’s going to be alright, no matter what path you’ll choose.

Put away that phone. I know you’re probably reading this on your phone or laptop, but you don’t have to be on your phone all the time. This one can be difficult for me too, but I know it’s best for you and me. Talk with people. Give each other attention. Think about it, so many people in the world are on this very moment looking down at something that’s actually just a piece of metal instead of looking up, looking at the real world. It’s okay to text a friend or take a picture sometimes, just don’t forget to look up.

Don’t be afraid of trying something new. Remember that changes aren’t bad and you don’t have to be the same person you were 5 minutes ago. If you get the opportunity of doing something totally out of your comfort zone, just do it. What’s the worst that could happen? Actually, the worst that could happen is that you’ll have regrets. You’ll get such great experiences and memories of it. Just try to stay positive and it will always end well, even if it wasn’t the ending you excepted.

Live your life the way it makes you happy and enjoy it now you still can.
